Ollie Has A Job

Sunday, February 17th, 2013

Here is Ollie (Alkemi Breaking Away LS) demonstrating his new job, thanks to his mom Pat! Wow! This will come in handy for his NADAC Chances runs!

Jim’s first question was “how did she stop him from ripping the paper up”…(obviously Jim has lived with Vallhunds for nearly a decade)

LOBO CGC!!

Saturday, February 16th, 2013

Congratulations to Lobo (Alkemi Beowulf del Roble LS) on earning his Canine Good Citizen today in Washington! His mom Jan said he was a superstar and charmed everyone. Well done Jan and Lobo!

NINA AXJ!

Sunday, February 10th, 2013

Nina finished her AXJ (Excellent Jumpers title) at the Tamarack Lake AKC trial at Countryside Agility in Edinboro, PA! We neeeeearly had an off course, but we saved it for the Q. Now she starts earning MACH (Masters Agility Championship) points in Jumpers With Weaves, and working on her MXJ (Master Jumpers title)!

TISH DOUBLE Q AT DOUBLE Q!

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

Tish got her first-ever double Q today! She earned her first leg in Novice Standard and first leg in Open Jumpers With Weaves! I stupidly didn’t ask anyone to record our JWW run (in which she did her first-ever 12 weave poles at a trial!), but here is our Standard run:

And BIG congratulations to Tish’s sister Demi on finishing her Open Jumpers title!

Lobo Tracking at 4 Months of Age!

Monday, December 31st, 2012

Video taken December 31, 2012 of Lobo (Alkemi Beowulf del Roble LS) tracking. He is just FOUR MONTHS OLD! His mom Jan has done a lot of tracking with her Malinois.

Tish CL2

Sunday, December 30th, 2012

Tish has officially finished CPE Level 2 as of today. She went 4 for 4 today at All Dawgs, earning her CL2-R (Standard) and CL2-H (Handler Games) titles. She ran really, really well, AND got her first level 4 Jackpot Q with a score of 62! Yay Tish!

Excellent Weekend!

Monday, December 10th, 2012

I realize that I updated the world with my big news via Facebook, but some of you don’t do the Facebook thing. This past weekend in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, Nina not only finished her Open Agility title to get all the way into Excellent, she earned her first Time to Beat Q (and was the fastest dog in her class, which meant she set the time to beat and earned 10 points), AND her first Excellent Jumpers leg (on the same day as her Open title, so technically a double Q of sorts, the first time she has EVER done that). And THEN Tish earned her very first AKC title with her Novice Jumpers Q on Saturday. Nina missed her second Jumpers Q on Saturday when I forgot to support the weaves properly, the rest of her course was perfect. So much fun, and so awesome to see things finally coming together!

NINA OAJ!

Sunday, November 18th, 2012

Nina OAJ, November 18, 2012

In addition to Nina finishing her Open Jumpers title (we’re still sitting on 2 legs in Standard, SOOO CLOSE both times this weekend), Tish ran a great Jumpers course yesterday (no q) and earned her second Jumpers leg today with a lovely q – she drove ahead of me and ran her lines like a Nina! No video of today’s Tish Q unfortunately.

Yet More Visitors!

Friday, September 14th, 2012

The puppies had more visitors today: Riley’s people Nichole and Chris! They LOVE visitors! Chris wants to install a “wake up the puppies” button on the webcam, I told him he could do that at HIS house…

I was thinking about how many people the puppies have met so far, they’re at at least 18 people plus us! Not bad for less than six weeks.

They turn six weeks old on Sunday! Their second-last deworming while they are here…it’s gone so quickly this time! Their personalities are really coming out, although I remind myself how much change there was in the last ones between five weeks and the time they went home.

They are really noticeably building their muscles and stamina – they need more and more time to zoom around and spend less time sleeping (although they are still babies and do sleep a lot). They get straight kibble for one or two meals a day now, and I got them some sweet potato chews to try, they’ll get those tomorrow!
