Yesterday was 4.7 ng/mL! SO CLOSE! But we have to test again today. Have to get allllll the way to 5.
Just heard from Renee at Dr Hutchison’s, their machine also said 4.7, and when I said I’d drawn another sample this morning (thanks Steph!), she said “OH YOU ROCK!”. So now, if today’s is over 7.5 ng/mL then we call them at 8 AM Monday and plan to head out there, if over 5, but under 7.5, then should be Tuesday! REALLY close now…
3.3 yesterday! We test again today!
Yesterday she was at 1.6ng/mL. We are at day 18 now…just goes to show you that breeding on a specific day of a heat isn’t always going to work!
Saturday’s progesterone (thanks Steph!) was 1.0 ng/mL. Yes, it went down a bit- not unusual. We test again tomorrow!
Yesterday’s progesterone was 1.2 ng/mL! So while Nina didn’t cooperate and get herself ready over the Memorial Day weekend (and thus save me from having to take a day off from work), looks like she is thinking about ovulating! We took another sample this morning (thanks Steph!), so we’ll see what that one says…Nina says that all these tests using three cc’s of blood can only be replaced by her being fed three pounds of freeze-dried liver treats on a daily basis…
Update: Animal Clinic Northview says 1.6, so their number is a wee bit higher, but close enough.
Still at 0.8ng/mL, the slacker! Retest tomorrow and Saturday.
Yesterday’s sample was 0.8ng/mL. Going up! Waiting to hear when to test next, likely tomorrow.
Update: I spoke to Renee at Animal Clinic Northview (who was very nice), we are waiting for the progesterone to hit 5 ng/mL, then we will breed 3 days later. Next test tomorrow!

Well, we drew blood for Nina’s first progesterone test this morning. One sample to our lab, one to Dr Hutchison (to see if they match). Now we wait some more.
As of today, Nina is in heat…now comes the nailbiting and testing and waiting …
