Jim and I are very excited to welcome Trulli home! Trulli was bred by Kat Klein of Kleinhaus Swedish Vallhunds. When this litter was 8 weeks old, I drove to Massachusetts to meet these little monsters, and this little girl cuddled into me, took a deep breath, and melted. And then so did I. I couldn't stop thinking about her on the long drive home, she just felt like my dog (like it felt when I met Nina for the first time). And so, two weeks after that, I met Kat in Syracuse (thanks for meeting me halfway Kat!) and brought Trulli home. She is doing great: stable, brave, bold, sassy, smart, and adaptable (just my kind of dog).
Trulli (pronounced truly) is out of a very genetically diverse breeding (as diverse as you can get in Vallhunds, with parents who carry the least common alleles, this was a BetterBred 10 breeding for those who follow that), so I knew I might be interested just from that standpoint when I learned Kat Klein was planning this litter. That, combined with the fact that Kat does an absolutely stellar job of raising her litters, meant that I just could not say no once I met her.
Trulli is named after the Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli (because of course she is). Because she was born near Valentines Day I knew I wanted a Valentines sort of name, and her name just came to me as I drove home from meeting her that first time.
Trulli has many wonderful dogs in her pedigree. Her father was bred by Cindy Kingsley, whose Vallhunds were the first we ever met back when we lived in Texas. And there are many Vastgota dogs in there, some already in my lines (including Nina's great grandmother Cranberi), and some not, like Vastgota Minonna-Nell, who was one of my very favorite dogs.
The last puppy in our house that I purchased instead of breeding was Nina. Thank you so much for trusting us with this little girl Kat!
